The canvas is relined. Paint surface has somewhat flattened, but is in good and stable condition. Retouchings are visible in the sky and along the lower ledge. The paint surface is under a clear layer of varnish.
Inspection under UV-light confirms the aforesaid and reveals additional spots of retouching in the sky, the wall to the right and in the foreground area. The figures and horses are well preserved.
