The actual painting is warmer and less bright and yellow in tone than the catalogue illustration suggests. The single panel is slightly bowed and very lightly bevelled on all sides. Some minimal paint losses are visible along the upper and lower edges. The paint surface has grown slightly thin in the darker areas, but otherwise, seems to be in good condition. Small retouchings can be observed in the upper left corner, in the background upper right, and along the right edge, and minor strengthening is visible in the figures and in the wooden objects in the foreground, both left and right. The paint surface s covered with a thick and dirty layer of varnish. Inspection under ultra violet light is largely impeded by the dirty varnish layer, but does confirm the aforementioned retouchings and strengthening. Offered unframed. (MW)
