Catalogue Note

Although the window depicted here is dated 1479, the drawing is clearly of 16th-century origin.  It is possible it was made as a record of an earlier window, perhaps in connection with a restoration project, or else as a design for a window commemorating some event that took place in 1479.  Although she cannot associate the drawing with the style of any artist known to her, Dr. Zsuzsanna van Ruyven-Zeman has confirmed that she believes it is a 16th-century Dutch work, from the same artistic milieu as Lambert van Noort.
