Condition
STRUCTURE
The canvas has been lined.
PAINT SURFACE
The painting appears to be in generally good condition. There is a shallow indentation to the surface to the midle left of the canvas where repare work has been carried out to a tear and there is a very slight scratch to the paint surface on the neck of the sitter.
ULTRAVIOLET
Examination under ultraviolet light reveals further minor scattered retouchings, particularly in the background above the sitters head.

Held in a carved and gilded wood frame.
