"The following condition report has been provided by Henry Gentle, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. The poplar panel has some minor worm damage but is in a good condition. The paint surface is secure but there have been past losses all over ( worm damage?) and there is recent restoration here, to the face , hat, tunic, hair and background. The pale cracking has also been reduced. Under U-V light the surface looks substantially restored."
