Catalogue Note

One of the present works may depict the death of Henri de La Tour, Vicomte de Turenne (1611-1675).  The great French military leader, who had fought in the Thirty Year's War and the Fronde, was killed at the Battle of Sasbach, one of many in Louis XVI's Dutch War.
