Catalogue Note

From the first edition of Dudley's highly important Dell'Arcano del Mare, the first published sea-atlas of the entire world, and the first atlas with the maps prepared on Mercator's projection, this pair of charts are focussed on the south-eastern part of the Arabian peninsula, north of Dhofar, the first including the southern part of the Red Sea, the second extending round to India, just north of Goa.
