Catalogue Note
One of the very earliest printed maps of the Arabian Peninsula, from Berlinghieri's Geographia, a paraphrase of Ptolemy with additions from more recent authorities. Although textually-speaking not considered an edition of Ptolemy, the maps are the only published examples of Ptolemy's maps constructed on his original projection, with equidistant meridians and parallels.
