Catalogue Note

a presentation copy signed by the duke of bedford. Weddell, the artist and engraver of the plates, was the engraver of Chandler and Booth's Camelliae, later editions of Lambert's Genus pinus, and lithographer of some of the plates in Wallich's Plantae Asiaticae rariores. His style in the present work reflects the influence of Franz Bauer, whose pupil he may have been.
