The body of rosewood with numerous fluted ribs interleaved iwth metal stringing, the table with decorative key-pattern edging in mother of pearl and and various woods with a tortoiseshell scratch plate inlaid with two cherubs playing lutes in mother of pearl, the neck and head overlaid iwth tortoiseshell, the fingerboard extending over the soundhole overlaid iwth mother of pearl, twenty-two frets, the machines enclosed within an engraved brass plate set on the upper face of the head.
