- Printed visiting card signed and inscribed ("Mahler") with a fifteen-line autograph message to a conductor, conceding that he has annoyed him for some time, and that he has been buffeted by the waves of fortune, but that, although life is still tempestuous, he hopes to be able to devote himself to serving those excellent artistic qualities in the recipient which he has always admired ("...Ich bin nur ein wenig auf den Wogen des Lebens umher getrieben und jetzt noch immer auf hoher See...Aber...es gehört mit zu meinen Lebenszielen Ihrer herrlichen Kunst und Meisterschaft zum Sieg zu verhelfen..."), 2 pages, c. 6 x 10 cms, "Kapellmeister Gustav Mahler", some staining
