Description

  • Autograph letter signed ("CMvWeber"), to Johann Nepomuk Hummel, mentioning "Euryanthe"
recommending to him the bearer of this letter, the Warsaw music director Kurpinsky, whom Weber praises as a fine, educated man and who would very much like to meet him, mentioning that he was very glad to hear of the recent success of his music, and wishing him more of the same; Weber also relates personal news of his family, informing him that [his young son] Max is visibly thriving, and informs him of his travel plans which involve taking his opera [Euryanthe] to Vienna in August; in a concluding passage, in addition to wishing his wife well, Weber discusses a singer, whom he describes as having a good voice but who may not be kept on by Herr von Könneritz [the administrator of the Dresden Opera] as he is too much of a novice
