Catalogue Note

In 1852 Berlioz conducted a series of six concerts in London, at Exeter Hall. The present letter refers to preparations for the sixth concert, given on Wednesday, 9 June 1852, at which Berlioz conducted Beethoven's Ninth Symphony and two parts of his Damnation of Faust. As Berlioz relates in a letter of 11 June, to his sister Adèle Suat, the concert was a triumphant success.
