"Dal 1964 al 1969 le bande di colore s'impongono come uniche protagoniste del quadro. Il passaggio tra lo spazio totale delle trame luminose e lo spazio attivo delle bande colorate avviene con la modificazione progressiva del rapporto tra forma (le trame) e il supporto. Dopo una completa identificazione tra forma-spazio-colore, saranno le linee forza delle strutture reticolari a essere messe in relazione col fondo al quale viene attribuito un ruolo attivo sicchè i vuoti assumono un peso equivalente alle parti colorate. (...) Il movimento si sviluppa sempre secondo i tre parametri orizzontale, verticale, diagonale, ma privilegiando quest'ultimo che segna delle traiettorie e impone una direzione al colore. (...) L'armonia nasce ormai dall'orchestrazione dei contrasti e delle dissonanze."
