Description

the body cast in the form of a stylised animal head with large horns and ears, finely engraved with scrolls, the slender curved shaft terminating in a bird's head hook

Condition

The hook is in good overall condition with the exception of light pitting and scratching to the surface and a slight bend to the top right horn. It is probable that the hook has been partially coated in a wax or varnish to resist tarnish to the silver.
