The hook is in good overall condition with the exception of light rubbing to the design on the top surface, tiny nicks to the edges, light pitting and scratching to the surface, and possible repair or replacement to the button. It is probable that the hook has been coated in a wax or varnish to resist tarnish to the silver decoration.
