Description

the curved, semi-circular shaft ending in a dragon's head hook and decorated with an overall design of finely chased and engraved volutes and triangles alternating with bands and scales with ring-punched details

Condition

The hook is in good overall condition with the exception of light nicks to the edges, light pitting and scratching to the surface, and possible repair or replacement to the button. It is probable that the hook has been coated in a wax or varnish to resist tarnish to the silver decoration.
