Condition
The hook is in good overall condition with the exception of a fracture across the middle right side edge, rubbing and loss to the gilt decoration, and light pitting and scratching to the surface. It is probable that the hook has been coated in a wax or varnish to resist tarnish to the silver and gilt decoration.
