Condition
STRUCTURE
The canvas is original. There are two small patches to the canvas lower left.
PAINT SURFACE
The paint surface is generally sound, but there are traces of dirt in the sky and light stretcher marks to the left, right and upper edges. Also flecks of paint loss to the lower left corner.
ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT
UV Light reveals retouching in the lower right corner corresponding with the repairs on the reverse. A few further patches in the sky, to stretcher marks and frame abrasions in the upper right hand corner.
FRAME
Held in a period canvas and gilt frame, in good condition.
