Black diamond, rock crystal and enamel dress set, Michael Kanners

Estimate

bidding is closed

Description

Comprising a pair of cufflinks and four studs, the cushion-shaped links decorated with mother-of-pearl panels applied with black enamel 'zebra' stripes, surmounted by domed rock crystal cabochons, bordered by round black diamonds, the cufflinks also composed of spherical links inset with round onyx and white hardstone cabochons, mounted in 18 karat white gold.

Condition

Excellent condition. Negligible irregularities to the zebra-stripe enamelling. Please note that the small black and white cabochons on the cufflink backings are composed of enamel, not hardstone. According to the designer, the cabochons were made using a cold enamelling process, a time-consuming technique requring the material to be dried in an upright position for many hours.
