Description

The rectangular box with hinged lid, the wavy chased gold cagework mounts enclosing later mother-of-pearl panels inlaid with enameled yellow-centered blue flowers sprinkled within a lattice of gold pellets, gold lined, 31/8  by 2½ inches, maker's mark ?D, charge and discharge marks of Antoine Leschaudel, Paris, 1747.  



With original lot tag from the Thurn and Taxis sale.

Condition

Mother of pearl panels are of later date. The piece is in good condition overall.
