Description

The cushion-shaped sapphire weighing 3.32 carats, framed by 10 old-mine diamonds weighing approximately 1.75 carats, mounted in gold, size 7.

Condition

Mounting tests as 18 karat gold; it is in antique style but is likely not old. Diamonds estimated colour I-K, estimated clarity SI-I. One stone with chip to crown facet. Sapphire is of a medium blue hue, moderately strong saturation of colour. Visible zoning and rutile "silk" inclusions beneath table. Minor abrasions to crown and table facets. In good condition.
