Description
The guilloché dial with black Roman numerals and gilt hands within a gold bezel applied with royal blue enamel and round cabochon sapphires at the quarters, the carved rose quartz stand of rectangular shape and sloped form studded with round cabochon sapphires in gold collets at the corners, 4 3/4 by 3 1/8 inches, dial signed Cartier, case back signed made in France, movement by European Watch & Clock Co., Inc.
Condition
Case back signed made in France, numbered 2903 and what appears to be 9544. Movement bridge signed Cartier, European Watch & Clock Co. Inc., Fabr. en Suisse, 15 jewels, adjusted to temperature. Inside of back: European Watch & Clock Co., France, serial numbers 1260 and 2903. Presently running. Please see Notice Regarding Condition of Watches on page 368 of the catalogue. Some damage and loss to the enamel, sapphires are of decorative quality. The rose quartz is interestingly included and is in good condition. There is a carved well that runs horizontally across the piece, probably for resting an ink pen.
