Description
Designed as a flower-filled basket supporting a flexible garland of leaves and berries, composed of a carved jade plaque and jade beads, small pearls and numerous single-cut diamonds, mounted in platinum, signed Cartier, supported on a black cord necklace with platinum and rose-cut diamond pendant loop and fittings, signed Cartier, numbered 478. Together with a seed pearl necklace with marquise-shaped silver clasp, length 16½ inches.
Condition
The pendant is signed Cartier on the bail and has an incomplete/indistinct serial number (492?) The cord is also signed Cartier and numbered 478; probably a marriage with the pendant. The cord can be detached and the pendant worn on the seed pearl necklace as well. The slides on the cord allow for adjustment in length. Diamonds are a decorative quality, pearls are a creamy golden shade and the jade is interestingly color mottled. In good condition overall.
