GEM-SET AND DIAMOND 'BIRD' BROOCH

Modelled as a toucan perching on a branch, the body, beak and wings set with calibré-cut coloured sapphires, decorated to the eye and surround with cabochon sapphire and circular-cut coloured sapphires respectively, the cheek, shoulder and tail encrusted with brilliant-cut diamonds, the crest fitted with a carved onyx, the sapphires and diamonds together weighing approximately 10.00 and 1.00 carats respectively, mounted in 18 karat white and yellow gold.

Colour and Clarity: In our opinion, the invisible-set coloured sapphires are of various hues, from very light pink to red, light yellow to yellowish orange and orangy red, very light to medium strong purple colours. All are very clean to naked eyes and loupe check, lively stones. Diamonds are probably of G to H colours, VS clarity. Sapphire cabochon is medium, strong blue colour, eye clean. Condition: Signs of wear to the brooch mount, otherwise in good condition.
