Rare and Collectable! Manual winding movement running while cataloguing, tourbillon and chain and fusee transmission appears fully operational while cataloguing. Dial looks nice and clean. Case and buckle with no significant signs of use. Overall appears in unused condition. Outside of case back numbered 6/51. Movement numbered 40014. Catalogue Note
Accompanied by an A. Lange & Söhne Certificate, Instruction Manual, within a blue leather folder, a wooden magnifying glass and three polishing cloths. Further accompanied by a presentation case with outer card box.
Composed of over 1000 parts and due to the complexity of assembly, manufacture is limied to 12 pieces per year, and only a total of 51 pieces will be produced. This is the first time that this model has ben offered at auction.
The apex of the German watch maker's complicated line; the Tourbograph couples the traditional art of watch making with modern ingenuity. This watch incorporates the chain and fusée mechanism with the tourbillon, perfecting the movement's long-term accuracy, in addition to a split seconds chronograph. As a result of this technical achievement, the Tourbograph earned the prestigious German accolade for watch making "Pour Le Mérite."
