Condition
The canvas is restretched onto burlap and is possibly wax relined. There is slight craquelure in the impasto areas. There is inpainting scattered throughout the work with two 1 in. horizontal lines next to the shell in the lower half of the painting as well as in the left figure's nose and hand. There are additional scattered areas of inpainting in the upper half of the background and two ¼ in. lines near the signature in the upper right corner. Overall in stable condition.
