Description

Designed as an urn, centring on a carved jadeite plaque, Indian circa 1880s, inset with floral and foliate motifs and a pair of birds, decorated with variously cut gemstones and diamonds, within a later frame; the top, base and handles highlighted with baguette, circular- and rose-cut diamonds, further decorated with black and green enamel, detachable chain with cabochon ruby and circular- and rose-cut diamond connecting link, length approximately 510mm, detachable brooch fitting, signed Janesich and indistinctly numbered, French assay and maker's marks.

Condition

Signed Janesich and indistinctly numbered to reverse. Estimated total diamond weight approximately 0.40-0.50 carat, bright stones. Enamel with minor scratches to surface. Patchy discolouration to jade. Clasp missing to chain. In good condition.
