Condition
Sheet is hinged to mat with archival tape at top edge. Tape from previous matting along all of back edges. Somw evidence of foxing in upper half. Slight sheet discoloration throughout.

The authenticity of this work has kindly been confirmed by Carmela Rubin.
According to the attached card this work was owned by Lady Melchett, originally Violet Florence Mabel Mond. She came from a British Jewish family and married Alfred Mond who was later honored as Baron Melchett. She was an active humanitarian and political worker who promoted specialized care for injured officers and infant welfare. Lord and Lady Melchett were also enthusiastic supporters of the arts.
