Catalogue Note

While the inscriptions on the top of the work are the Hebrew words for raisons and almonds refering to the Yidish culture and hospitality with which the aritst was familiar with, the inscriptions on the bottom of the work refer to the first sentence of Psalms: 91 written in Biblical Hebrew: "He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty."
