The Buddha's face in meditation, with almond-shaped downcast eyes, arched eyebrows that meet and blend into the long nose, the outlined lips forming a smile, the elongated earlobes indicative of the Buddha's princely past and his tightly curled hair rising to form an usnisha.

Condition

The surface of the face is smooth with traces of gilding and a few scratches. The hair contains remnants of lacquer and gilding. The rim of the neck is uneven with chips and cracks, and a section of the back is bent inwards. The inlay from the eyes and the separately cast flame finial is now missing
