The Prince is being presented with a coconut wrapped in silver foil, a custom considered very auspicious during the time.

Condition
Fairly good overall condition. Abrasions to pigment on green ground, the white mat on which the Prince is seated, the blue vase in front of him and in a few spots on the carpet.

Catalogue Note
The present painting, like the previous lot, appears to be by the hand of Wajid who was active in Isarda during this time. The treatment of the figures is similar and the carpet seen in the foreground is identical to that in the previous lot. Both paintings are good representative examples of how local courts assumed the customs and manners of the Mughals.
