Condition

Executed on buff-coloured wove paper, laid down on linen, attached to the overmount along all four edges. There are artist's pinholes to the top two corners. There is a small flattened crease to the lower left corner, intrinsic to the laying down process, and a 25cm. flattened crease across the upper left corner. There are scattered spots of paint loss to the areas of thickly applied gouache, visible in the catalogue illustration. Apart from some areas of studio and surface dirt, this work is in overall good condition. Colours: Overall fairly accurate although the paper tone is slightly warmer and the reds are more subtle in the original.
