Condition
Work is in generally good condition. A thick varnish may be slightly yellowed. There are hard creases to the sheet which are visible in raking light and which show some resoration under UV light. These include a vertical hard crease down the center of the work, two two inch long creases extending from the right side of the top edge, and a diagonal crease running from the center left edge to approximately 8 inches from the lower left corner on the bottom edge. Under UV light: aforementioned central vertical crease shows numerous strokes of inpainting, many of which are around an inch long. Along the aforementioned diagonal crease there is sporadic inpainting, mostly towards the ends of the crease where it meets the edges. There is a two inch long spot of inpainting between the diagonal crease and the lower left corner and another of equal size in the extreme lower right corner. A three inch patch of inpainting is visible between the central crease and the large cloud in the upper right sky. A few other dots of inpainting in the dark background pigments.
