London, Victor Waddington, Henri Matisse: Drawings (1919 to 1952), 1972, no. 9, illustrated in the catalogue
Condition
Work is in very good condition. Executed on cream wove paper. T-hinged to a mount at two places along the top edge. Artist's pinholes at the top two corners. Watermark in lower left corner. Some smudging at lower right which seems inherent to the artist's process. Some minor discoloration at the extreme edges of the sheet. On verso, tape residue in extreme lower corners. Otherwise fine.
Color: Line is stronger and sheet tone creamier than in catalogue illustration.
