Catalogue Note

The Venetian glass dealer Egidio Costantini headed a fifteen year project aimed at reviving the glass blowing center on the island of Murano. Artists such as Jean Arp, Max Ernst and Picasso contributed designs which were executed in glass. Jean Cocteau, who was also involved in the project, named it La Fucina degli Angeli (The Foundry of Angels).
