Catalogue Note
According to the Comité Rodin, the present bronze was probably cast by the founder Griffoul, circa 1900. During his lifetime Rodin had this composition made in bronze and plaster. One of the plasters can now be seen in the California Palace of the Legion of Honor in San Francisco.
