The movement is running, however it may require service soon. The dial appears to have had the silvering finish stripped and has a mirror-like appearance now, with spotting throughout and some loss to the pearled outer minute ring. The case bears a moderate wear and Florentine engraving, which is also documented on a few other Ref. 2531 models. The width is 25mm.

Although this model bears resemblance to the 'Top-Hat' model (see lot 222) for its banded top and bottom, it is actually known as the 'Chinese' model by some collectors for its similarity to the Cartier Tank Chinoise.

To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time the present example has been offered at auction.
