  • diameter 51mm.
• nickel lever movement, bi-metallic compensation balance, 17 jewels, gold cuvette engraved with name • white enamel dial, Breguet numerals, outer 24-hour indication, recessed subsidiary seconds • 18k gold case, the bezels with running foliate engraving, the front with polychrome enamel lake scene inhabited by a bird dog on the hunt at dawn, the sky with translucent warm hues set over guilloché base, the reverse with similarly enameled lakescape • movement signed by maker, case and cuvette numbered, dial signed Ferrocarril de Antioquia

Condition

The movement is running, however it may require service soon. The dial is in nice condition. There is some light scuffs to the surface of the enamel and a very slight loss to the enamel in the outer blue border, but it is otherwise in very good condition. The case spring may require adjustment. The inscription to the cuvette reads 'Juan Heiniger, Medellin.'

Catalogue Note

The signature on the dial refers to the railroad of Antioquia, the region in Colombia of which Medellín is the capitol. The railroad's construction began in 1875, and the project proved to have a great impact on the economic development of the region.
