The movement is running, however we recommend service soon. It is numbered 19621814. The dial is in nice condition and appears totally original. The luminescent paint has aged nicely and turned brown evenly. The luminescent paint to the hands has discolored and come off in places, particularly to the seconds hand. The case shows general wear and is in nice condition overall. The outside of the back is rather rubbed, however the factory engraving, 'Certified High Pressure Waterproof' is still visible. The bracelet is in nice condition and is stamped 7912 and 2 63.

Omega launched the Seamaster 300 in 1956 as a direct competitor with Rolex's Submariner, Ref. 6538. Despite the model's name, the Omega was only tested to 200 meters rather than 300.

Launched in 1962, the present lot comes from the Ref. ST165.014, which was the third evolution of the model.

Today, this model is very collectible for its unusual double-bezel design, with a fixed steel and rotating black bezel, as well as its iconic arrow hands.
