Very good overall condition. The shade with approximately 10-12 cracks to the glass scattered throughout. With surface soiling to the shade, particularly in the recessed contours of the decorative bronze overlays, which would benefit from a sensitive cleaning. The bronze elements on the shade and base retain a rich brown-green patina with gentle rubbing and light wear consistent with age and gentle use. The base appears to have a secondary varnish application. There are three small areas of patina loss to the foot of the base which are partially visible in the catalogue illustration. The sockets and switches appear to be original. The period finial is irregular and slightly indented beneath the central knop, and as a result the knop sits slightly askew. This base is a rare and unusual variant of the standard production model of this design, in that the standard is reticulated and not solid. The turtleback tiles incorporated throughout the shade show great iridescence and color. A particularly fine and attractive example of this rare shade model displaying richly saturated glass.
