Description

Stunning clarity and focus characterize this oversized 27" by 36" team photo of the 1925 World Champion Pittsburgh Pirates. The 1925 Pirates stumbled out of the gate, starting out 6-11, a full 6.5 games behind the New York Giants and in last place. By mid-June the Pirates had climbed to second place, and finally overtook the Giants on June 28th. The Pirates eventually hit their stride, winning by 8.5 games. Facing the Washington Senators in the World Series, the Bucs won the title in a closely fought seven game battle.  Among those pictured are Hall of Famers Kiki Cuyler and Pie Traynor. The combination of the photo's unusual size and image quality cannot be overstated.
