The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com , an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's.
This painting does not appear to have been lined, it has probably never been cleaned and is in gorgeous condition. Lining is still not necessary. Very slight cracking has developed and the paint layer is in wonderful state. Cleaning and some retouching around the edges and to a loss in the lower right, will present this picture very well.
