Description
Designed as a slightly graduated row of button-shaped corals measuring approximately 20.0 to 11.2 mm., spaced by pairs of small coral beads, supporting a fringe of coral pendant drops, the gold bead surmounts accented with filigree, together with a pair of matching earclips, necklace length approximately 14 inches, coral pendants possibly later added.
Condition
Good general condition. The mountings to the cabochons are paler in color and of a lower karatage than the beads suspending the pendants (using an acid test, the mountings were found to be approximately 14k and the beads approximately 18k or higher). The pendants, although dating from the same general time period as the main body of the necklace and earclips, may be later additions. There are minor color variations and generally minimal color mottling to the coral. A few of the coral elements may be replacements. The backings to the earclips are later additions.
