Description

Comprising a pair of clips designed as highly sculptural flowers set with round, single-cut and baguette diamonds weighing a total of approximately 19.00 carats, the centers decorated with clusters of cabochon rubies, mounted in platinum, and a gold hinged bangle-bracelet with peaked center, the sides applied with platinum and diamond scrolls, one flower may be fitted to center of bangle, clips may be worn together or separately, together with a separate double-clip mechanism.

Condition

The diamonds are approximately H-J color and predominantly VS-SI clarity, with an occasional I clarity stone. The rubies are a deep slightly purplish red color and are opaque, with some surface-reaching inclusions. The cuff bangle shows scratching due to regular wear, but is in good condition. Hinged and fitted with a safety chain. 6 1/2 inches interior circumference. Not signed, but authenticated by Verdura as made from the client's stones in 1963. Accompanied by an original sketch and double-clip mechanism.

Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion.
