Description

The carved bone head, designed as a 'blackamoor', the turban centring on a facetted synthetic sapphire, embellished to the front with a collet-set ruby and brilliant-cut diamonds, to a similarly embellished collar suspending a cabochon emerald drop, signed Verdura.

Condition

Stamped 18K for 18 carat gold to reverse. Head a little discoloured. Rubies a medium red hue, typical inclusions visible with magnification, principal stone in turban with small chips, slightly pinkish hue. Emerald drop a light slightly yellowish green hue with typical inclusions visible to the naked eye. Synthetic sapphire a little abraded. Diamonds bright and lively. Scratches to mount consistent with wear. In very good condition.
