Ce bureau est une copie du bureau conservé à Waddesdon Manor (voir G. de Bellaigue, The James A. de Rothschild collection at Waddesdon Manor, 1974, vol. II, pp. 458 à 465, n° 94) qui avait été à réalisé par Benneman en 1786 d'après celui fait par Oeben et Riesener et livré pour le roi en 1769.
