Description

  • height of taller figures 9 3/4 in.
  • 24.8 cm
comprising: a sportsman and companion, each holding a dead bird game and standing on a green mound base, and a musician playing a flute and his companion playing a mandolin, each standing on a mound applied with flowerheads and raised on a floral swag-molded plinth .  Some minor chips and restoration.

Condition

Sportsman & Companion: the Sportsman has an approximately 4x3 in. section of the base broken out at the back and restored back; and another approximately 2 1/2 x 1 inch break restored at the front of the base. The Companion is in good condition. Musicians- Lady: the neck of her lute, her left thumb and the feathers of her hat are restored. The right side of the plinth has a fine 2 in. haircrack running diagonally from above the bottom front corner up to a point beneath the top edge about halfway along its length; and a second fine haircrack running parallel to the first from the same corner. Male: the feathers of his hat are restored; the end of the flute is chipped away ; there is a minor 1/8 in. flat chip to the bottom edge of the plinth of the front and a very minor abrasion chip to each of two corners on the upper edge. Both have some very minor occasional small chips to the flowerheads.
