of serpentine form with a handle on each side, the moulded border carved with rocaille, the central scene depicting neo-classical female figures with Bacchus and satyrs within a scrolled and foliate border



 

One handle has a restored break. Later ebonised on the back. Some minor chips to lacquered decoration. Some minor cracks around the border. A medium sized chip to one of the satyrs on the border. Some minor retouching to painted detail generally. Charming detail to decoration. In overall good conserved condition.
