Catalogue Note
The sitter was the daughter of John Firman of Firmount. She married Captain Richard Vandeleur (d. 1772), 9th Dragoons, of Rutland, Queen's County. Their son inherited the estate of Kilrush, County Clare from his grandfather John Vandeleur of Kilrush.
